This great collection of accounts from Henry Owens was sent to us in response to an ongoing campaign we launched in the Autumn of 2009 (youcanhelp@51hd.co.uk) in which we aimed to collect personal accounts, diary transcripts and copies of photographs and documents relating to those who had served with the 51st Highland Division.
We would like to thank Robert Owens and his family for sharing these detailed and moving memories of their Father's experience as a PoW from 1940 in St. Valery to liberation in 1945. We hope you find them as interesting as we did.
